Meet Stewie!
Welcome to the home of Stewie & Riverside Toys.

Who is Stewie? Stewie is our adorable tugboat mascot. How did we come up with a tugboat for our mascot?
​
We knew we wanted the mascot to be toyish in nature. We also knew it had to have nautical roots since Manistee has a long maritime history. The tugboat Stephan M. Asher frequents Manistee so we starting thinking "tugboat". Where does the name Stewie come from? Our last name is Shaffer, which in German means steward or shepherd. It started to click! Tugboats are the stewards of the harbor. Our tugboats name will be Stewie!! Now that we had a mascot, we set about plans to make Riverside Toys a place of fun & joy. We hope to see you when you visit Manistee!
